The Designheaven Wedding List Registry Bride and Groom Options Creating a perfect list If you are used to shopping on-line then you will find this a breeze! We have made sure that in just a few simple steps you will be able to create the perfect gift list. Even if you are a novice in the art of virtual shopping, our step by step guide will ensure you get off to a flying start. Define your style At Designheaven we pride ourselves on the quality, design and individuality of our look. We have carefully selected items to reflect your lifestyle. Beautiful and functional objects, simplicity and clean lines, all that create the perfect contemporary urban home. You will find it simple to add to your theme, as we have categorised the site into rooms, and featured within the rooms, cutting edge designers and brands. We are continually updating our stock and searching for individual and exciting new designs to compliment the trusted and classic designs that you already know and love. Some suggestions We suggest that before you get going, you decide on a few basics. Try to decide on colours, and whether you are choosing gifts to compliment what you already have, or whether you want to create a whole new look. Is this an opportunity for you to create a look that you can add to over time? Or, are you hoping to receive some expensive items that you can't afford to buy yourselves? The key to a good list is variety, and making sure that you choose at least half as many gifts as you have guests. This will ensure that there will be a sufficient selection to suit every pocket and that there is a wide choice for the guests that leave present buying till the last minute. On average your guests will want to spend around £50-£100 on a present. However, there will be some guests who will want to spend a bit more. Members of your family may wish to choose more expensive items, or friends and colleagues, may want to buy a larger item together. So don't forget to add some higher priced items to your list. So ... let's get started! Once you have entered the site, to start building your list click on "Wedding List Registry" in the navigation bar on the left hand side of the page. This will open up two options - Bride and Groom and Wedding Guest. By clicking on Bride and Groom - Create a Gift List - you will be taken to the first stage in setting up your list. This page simply requires you to enter your details and create a password for your list. You will then be given a unique reference (your Wedding List ID) which your guests will be given so they can access your list. Don't worry if you forget it, you can contact us on info@willowviewwebsites.co.uk and we will remind you. Once you have completed this initial stage, you are ready to start adding gifts to your list. So if you are sitting comfortably ... grab a cuppa, and let's begin! A list as unique as you You will see that in the navigation bar on the left hand side of the page, there are a number of rooms, by clicking on the rooms you'll see a list of all of the designers and brands that are available in that room. When you see something that you would like to add to your list, simply click on the button "add to list" and the item will automatically transfer onto your gift list. You can then change the quantity you require. If there's a gift that you're particularly looking for, then you can use the search facility. By entering either the name of the product, or the designer/manufacturer, you'll be presented with a list containing the product or keywords, for you to choose from. Adding a personal touch You can add a personal touch to your gift list when you enter your personal details, either to greet guests visiting the site, or to convey a special message. This message can be changed at any time by you. Here's a few examples, but you'll have great fun making up your own! "Thank you so much for choosing a gift from our list. We are looking forward to seeing you on our special day." "Welcome to our list. We have chosen a range of things that we would love to compliment our home. Anything you choose will be great, thanks." "Hello, we wondered if we could get away with adding the honeymoon to the list, but guessed that someone might notice! (You could always club together!) Anything you buy us will be great. See you on the day". "We've had great fun putting this list together. We hope it says something about us ... Particularly about our expensive tastes! Thanks for the present." "Sorry that everything on our list seems to be tableware. We really wanted to create a fantastic dining table, as we hope to do loads of entertaining when we're married. So at least you can look forward to coming round to dinner, and pointing out your pressie! " Tell your guests about your list We will provide you with wedding invitation inserts so that you can tell your guests all about your list. When they come onto this site all they have to do is either enter your names and the date of your wedding, or enter your Wedding List ID. They will be taken directly to your list, where they can decide from the pictures and descriptions, what they want to buy. Then they can make their payment online, secure in the knowledge, that they are using 'Worldpay' probably the best-known online payment service. Managing your list We have provided you with as much flexibility as possible within your list. There are opportunities for you to go into your list and manage it throughout. You can change or add to items that are already there, so that you can make up complete sets, such as china and glassware. To change your list, all you have to do is click on "Manage your Gift List", and you will be taken straight there. You can then change quantities, or items, and the changes will be automatically saved. You can go into your list whenever you like to see which gifts have been bought, and by whom. We suggest that you do this from time to time, so that you can add extra items if it looks like a lot of the gifts have been bought far in advance of the wedding. Remember to keep topping up your list to prevent latecomers to the list looking elsewhere for their gift. Closing your list and confirming your order Experience tells us that there will always be a few guests who will leave present buying till the end. It's wise to allow for this, by leaving your list open until a week or so, after the wedding. This also gives you the opportunity to have a last look at the items that are left, and purchase any yourself so that you can make up a much wanted set. This is also the opportunity for you to make any changes to the list before you confirm the order. This might mean swapping a few of the gifts around so that you get exactly what you want. Once you have done this, and you are completely happy, it is time to "close" the list by clicking on the option at the bottom of the list. Once the list has been closed, you will not be able to add to it or change any of the quantities required. You will, of course, still be able to view who has bought what for you. At this point the goods on the final version of your list will be ordered. Waiting patiently As each wedding list is completely individual and customised by you, we place orders for your gifts when you have made your final decisions, and once you have closed your list. Some of our products take longer to arrive from our suppliers, particularly items such as tableware. So you will need to allow at least 8 weeks before you can expect your first delivery. We will monitor the progress of your gifts, and will contact our suppliers at the 6 week stage to check on any outstanding items. At this stage we will also make contact with you, to keep you up to date with any outstanding gifts. We will arrange delivery of the gifts that will have arrived by week 8. We will make additional arrangements with you to deliver all of the outstanding items in one further delivery. It may feel like forever, but the time soon passes, and we can assure you that it's well worth the wait! Some other useful stuff Gift Inserts To make it even simpler for you we have designed gift inserts for you to just pop inside your invitations so that your guests know where to come and shop. All you have to do is specify the number that you require on your gift list. Organising your Thank You's In addition, you can print a copy of your list so that you can remember who bought what when it comes to writing your Thank You cards. How far in advance do we have to set up our wedding list? We recommend that you set up your list 2 months before you intend sending out your wedding invitations. This will make sure that you have plenty of time to get everything sorted out before your guests start to access your list. How much will using the service cost? Using the Designheaven Gift Registry will cost you nothing! Setting up your list is free, and any extra help you or your guests might need is free as well. The only extra, is the small packing and handling charge that we charge guests. What about guests that don't have access to the internet? Guests that aren't familiar with surfing the net can call us on the number on their wedding invitation inserts. We will happily send them a copy of your list, or talk them though it over the phone. They can place their order over the phone, or on an order form which we will send them. When will our gifts reach us? Once you have closed your list, we get on the with the job of ordering your gifts from our suppliers. As every list is individual, it generally takes around 8-12 weeks for your gifts to arrive with us. Once they have arrived we will despatch them to you in one consignment. Any items that haven't arrived by that time (Tableware sometimes takes a while) will be sent in one further consignment. If we need any more help, what's the best way to go about it?
